Chapter meetings

 

Meetings are normally held the second Thursday of the month at the Engineering Society of Western Pennsylvania (ESWP) building in downtown Pittsburgh. More information about chapter meetings is available in our Chapter Meetings section.

Reservations should be made by 4:00 PM on Monday the week of the meeting which will be the second Monday of the month.  Reservations may be made via email to Mike Gaetano at m.gaetano@eswp.com or alternatively you may telephone (412) 261-4300.

In the email please provide your name as you want it to appear on the name tag, indicate that you are, or are not, a member of the Pittsburgh Chapter, and a telephone number where you can be reached during the business hours.

You may include in your email the names of associates or guests that may also be attending with you, and provide the same name tag and affiliation information.

Healthcare LIG

Title: Use of Customer Relationship Management in Healthcare

Speaker: Melanie Connell, PMP

Abstract: Managing relationships with customers in Healthcare provides many challenges that are not seen in other industries.  This presentation will discuss the current state of the use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) solutions in Healthcare utilizing UPMC's approach as a case study.

Presenter's Biography: Melanie Connell currently works for the eHealth Division of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as the Project Manager for the implementation of CRM solutions for the Physician Services Division.  She has 30 years experience in the information technology field including 20+ years in project management.  She has spent 21+ years in various sectors of the healthcare market including hospitals, healthcare insurance, biomedical research, and mental health/mental retardation case management.

Title: Energizing Critical Relationships

Speaker: Steve Hegele, Hegele Academy

Abstract: Build, grow and develop personal and professional relationships that improve productivity and quality of life. Personally and professionally the quality and success of our lives depends on our ability to attract and build high caliber relationships that generate desired results fueled by genuine and positive energy.

In relationships we live up to or down to the expectations of others. All relationships produce positive and negative energy. Learn the 8 dynamics that Enhance Energy in all relationships and learn how to identify the 8 dynamics that Erode and Deteriorate our most critical relationships. This presentation will also include an introduction on how to create and build the right kind of energy within teams and situations that will ultimately improve quality, enhance efficiency, build trust, improve loyalty, sales, and lead to better results and improved bottom line!

Presenter's Biography: First and formost, Steve Hegele is the father of 4, 2 boys and 2 girls, and husband to Angie, who is also his business partner. He loves spending his free time at the lake with his family, working on landscaping projects, and playing with his kids. Steve is the founder and CEO of Hegele Academy, a company about transformation, change and execution of knowledge. When businesses, teams and individuals want to move from "good" to "great", they call Steve! He is well known for asking the kinds of questions that disrupt conventional thinking. Steve helps groups uncover the critical core issues that limit their performance. His clients will say that he is "painfully" honest and candid which makes him a rare asset to those seeking real feedback which leads to measurable improvement. His engaging and dynamic style invites listeners to make decisions that lead to increased energy, learning, collaboration and results. Abstract: Pat Walsh shares his observations and thoughts about large projects.  His experience includes his current assignment to the Technology Integration Office (TIO) for the Bank of New York Mellon, other technology projects, and his career as an officer in the US Army.
